Chandani first discovered Middle Eastern Belly Dance about 13 years ago while attending college, working retail, working in the church and volunteering. Her instructor, Donna Whitley, helped her discover that she needed to take time for herself - that it was ok to focus inward. Belly dancing became part of her life. She came to know and understand the real meaning behind the dance through Donna's sharing of her own experience with its history, traditions and movements. Years of classes, workshops and teaching followed. After obtaining her Master's Degree in New York, Chandani taught belly dance in various facilities. Eventually she moved to Virginia Beach and opened her studio, BodyWorks by Chandani in April 2002. Today Chandani is a sought after professional Belly Dancer, workshop presenter, merchandise vendor and Middle Eastern Dance teacher. |
